Healthy Benefits Of Oral Chelation

Did you know that everyone gets toxic at some point in their life, secondary to the air we breath, the water we drink or from the processed foods we consume? Certainly, smoking (and second hand smoke), excess alcohol consumption, over-eating, lack of exercise and occupational exposure are contributing factors to internal toxicity and less than ideal health.

So, the best approach to proactive health would be to rid the body to those toxic poisons. Oral chelation is a safe avenue for the detoxification of heavy metals and minerals (i.e. toxins). Give your body the advantage this flu season by cleaning out toxins that may hamper the immune system, and replenish the body with immune-building nutrients.

"Internal Hygiene" - Detoxifying Obstacles On The Roadway To Health

What is "Internal Hygiene?" Internal Hygiene can be simply defined as hygiene and cleansing that takes place on the inside of your body. We ingest many toxic substances that pollute and clog our internal system. Some of these toxins come from cigarette smoke, alcohol consumption, saturated fats, and so on, which are factors we can control by making healthy dietary and consumer choices. Other toxins come from pesticides, exhaust fumes, our water source, household cleaners, and so on, which seem beyond our control. We know that air pollution is a big enough issue for the world leaders to design a treaty around but what bearing does it have on the individual human being? It's like the ancient serenity prayer, "Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference."

Let's examine the things that we cannot change (not immediately, anyway). According to a summary from the National Conference on Air Pollution Impacts on Body Organs and Systems, Examples of air pollutants that humans and animals are likely exposed to in food and water include pesticides, PCB's (polychlorinated biphenyls), dioxin and heavy metals, such as cadmium, lead and mercury. Some of the health conditions that can arise from these air pollutants are chronic sinusitis, asthma, allergies, ear infections, secondary heart disease (including hypertension and cardiac arrhythmias), kidney disease, bladder cancer, reproductive problems, as well as a compromised immune system, nervous system and endocrine system.

Before we discuss the things that we can change, let us talk about specific toxins and how they obstruct our roadway to health.

Aluminum

The obvious places we find aluminum are cookware, cooking utensils, and foil. Other consumer products that you can find aluminum in is baking powders, antacids, antiperspirants, toothpaste, grated cheese, bleached flour, table salt, and even beer. Aluminum is also in our water supply. Since aluminum is excreted through the kidneys, toxic amounts can impair kidney function. There is evidence to suggest that long-term aluminum accumulation in the brain may contribute to the development of Alzheimer's disease. Other health issues related to aluminum toxicity are colic, rickets, gastrointestinal disturbances, poor calcium metabolism leading to Osteoporosis, extreme nervousness, anemia, decreased liver and kidney function, etc.

Mercury

Mercury is found in many places: soil, water, food, fungicides, pesticides, chlorine bleaches, fish, cosmetics, dental fillings, fabric softeners, batteries, inks (used for printers and tattooing), paints, plastics, polishes, etc. Mercury is stored in the pain center of the brain and the central nervous system, and can block nutrients from entering the cells, as well as prohibit wastes from being excreted from the cells. It is thought that mercury can compromise the immune system by binding to immune cells and distorting them. Other compromised systems and organs in the body due to mercury toxicity are the kidneys, cardiovascular system, and respiratory system. Mercury toxicity can also cause arthritis, depression, fatigue, nausea, headaches, memory loss, muscle weakness, etc. In addition, the EPA links exposure to mercury vapors to menstrual disorders and miscarriages.

Cadmium

Cadmium can be found in: drinking water, fertilizer, fungicides, pesticides, soil, air pollution, refined grains, rice, coffee, tea, soft drinks, shellfish, and even in the batteries used for cell phones, laptops and toys. One other ubiquitous source that cadmium is found in is cigarette smoke, which also includes secondhand smoke. Long-term continual exposure to cadmium can lead to such health issues as high blood pressure, anemia, discoloration of the teeth, rhinitis, joint soreness, hair loss, loss of appetite, dry skin, etc. Cadmium exposure can also weaken the immune system, lead to kidney disease and cause liver damage. Extreme cadmium exposure can lead to emphysema, osteoporosis, osteomalacia (soft bones caused by Vitamin D deficiency) and cancer.

Lead

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 1 million children under age five have blood lead levels that exceed the acceptable norm. Lead, which is the most toxic metal contaminant known, is found in paints, ceramic, crystal, car batteries, wines, canned fruit, vegetables, bone meal, mini-blinds, insecticides, water supplies (lead piping), lead solder (used to solder copper pipes), and even porcelain-glazed sinks and bathtubs. Chronic lead toxicity can lead to health issues such as impotence, infertility, other reproductive disorders, blindness, memory loss, etc., as well as cause damage to internal systems such as cardiovascular, excretory (liver and kidney), and the nervous system. Other symptoms of lead toxicity are anxiety, arthritis, confusion, chronic fatigue, arthritis, gout, learning disabilities, vertigo, etc. Another very important note about lead toxicity is that the body cannot distinguish between calcium and lead, leaving people with calcium deficiencies more vulnerable to lead toxicity.

Now, let us examine the things that we can change (immediately) to lessen the amount of these toxins entering the body. How do we cleanse our internal systems and maintain good "internal hygiene?" Oral Chelation. It is a safe, non-surgical and effective way to cleanse and detoxify your entire cardiovascular system of toxic metals and wastes, including your gall bladder, lymphatic system, liver, and kidneys. Chelating agents bind with heavy toxic metals (grab on to them) such as cadmium, lead and mercury, then they are excreted out of the body. Chelation therapy has been used in the treatment of atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, gangrene, cholesterol and fat deposits, etc. It helps to break up plaque deposits, unclogging arteries, subsequently returning blood flow back to normal, which frees up nutrients to do their work. "More than 90% of Americans are at risk of developing a serious problem because of irregularities in the circulatory system." Health News Also, a recent study showed that 50 % of American children ages 15-19 already have early lesions (plaques) in their coronary arteries. According to the Prescription for Nutritional Healing in regards to using oral chelation for disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and arthritis, "...many severely disabled, high-risk individuals have reported dramatic improvement in arterial circulation after Chelation treatment."

TriCardia is designed to detoxify the cardiovascular system, liver, gallbladder, lymphatic system, and kidneys. TriCardia is a homeopathic medicinal specially engineered to provide specific nutrients which aid and support the body in naturally and safely cleansing and detoxifying.

Here are some additional changes you can make (immediately) to be proactive in your effort to shield the body from toxins:

  1. Do not buy canned foods that have been soldered with lead, they will have indentations along the seam. Have your water tested. Order a do-it-yourself kit from National Testing Laboratories (1-800-H2O-TEST) or call your state health department. Never use the first water drawn from your tap in the morning, let it run for 3 minutes before using it. Only boil water 5 minutes or less, since boiling concentrates contaminants in water.

  2. Do not store alcoholic beverages or foods like vinegar, fruit juices, or tomatoes in crystal glassware. Pregnant women and infants are more susceptible to toxins; therefore, it would be a safe precaution for pregnant women to avoid drinking hot coffee, tea, tomato soup, etc., from glazed ceramic cups or mugs.

  3. Quit smoking. If you do not smoke, then do not allow others to smoke around you, and if you can't control their actions, leave the room.

  4. Eat raw, organic fruits and vegetables throughout the day. Good nutrition and antioxidants are key factors in removing toxins from the body. Antioxidants actually fight free radicals that are caused by pollution and toxins and are known to chelate mercury. Free-radicals are believed to cause tissue damage at the cellular level - harming DNA, mitochondria and cell membrane.

  5. Anti-Oxin is a great source for rich antioxidants.

The list of things that we can do can go on and is enough to drive anyone to madness. Pollution and toxins are an unfortunate byproduct of advancement and has long been an issue since the Industrial Revolution when chimney sweeps contracted cancer of the scrotum from hydrocarbons in chimney soot and hatters literally became "mad" from mercury salts used to treat felt fabric.

Pollutants are everywhere and this is obviously a global health issue. The good news is that by making healthy choices we can minimize the internal damage. Although we cannot change the existing state of the world, we can make better dietary and consumer decisions, and most importantly, we can detoxify ourselves. Try Anti-Oxin and TriCardia formulas today. Improve your health and start reversing the damage caused by toxins and pollution. Source: Prescription for Nutritional Healing

A Family That Plays Together Stays Healthy Together

It has often been said that the greatest gift of life is life itself. While this is true, today we are also concerned with the quality of life, and the cornerstone of a quality life is good health. No one can guarantee us good health, but by adopting healthy habits and a sensible lifestyle, each of us can prevent unnecessary diseases like arthritis, diabetes and heart disease, as well as needless loss of vitality and premature aging. You are the person best equipped to maintain your health.

Since September 24th is Family Health and Fitness Day I wanted to make a few comments regarding the connection between close-knit families and general health. Numerous studies have shown that children who felt loved and cared for at an early age become well-adjusted adults. Families that "hang out" together and take an interest in each other can have more of an impact than you might realize. Health comes in many forms, and certainly the emotional and psychological components are as important as physical health.

I would like to encourage everyone to get more active and choose an exercise that you enjoy. Do the yard work, swim, boat, play tennis, golf or kayak. Because as you now Americans are becoming more obese and more children each year are overweight. This must change. Getting active as families we can make a "Healthy Impact."

Be An Activist In Your Family: Change The Tide & Exercise

Let's address an issue that is very much a concern for the entire nation, specifically our children. This issue is very clearly stated by Harold Kohl from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), "We've created the 'perfect storm' for obesity - particularly for children."

What he is referring to is our American culture. And guess what, the answer to weight loss is not diet. It is about reassessing your individual lifestyle and your family's lifestyle. Incidentally, September 24th is Family Health & Fitness Day, which sounds like a perfect time to make a change? Our American culture is severely different today than it was 30 years ago, and there are good reasons for it, but it has set the stage for a "couch potato" lifestyle. So if you are one of the overweight Americans or one of your children is overweight, don't beat yourself up about it, don't get overwhelmed by the need to diet, just make some healthy lifestyle adjustments for you and your family.

Number one, cut out or at least reduce soda and sugary drinks (including juice) from the diet. It is said that 20% of children who are overweight consume too many calories in their drinks. I am sure the same goes for adults, and no, diet soda's are not the answer either, try to enforce water and lowfat milk as alternatives. Another reason for the increase in weight gain for everyone is inactivity. Again, this is a direct result of our society and environment, but in order to live healthier we must not allow these things to dictate. The average American watches four hours of TV per day. It is time to go against the grain and change the tides!

I am imagining that in the grand scheme of things when asked what are the most important aspects of life, the answer will be health, family and the quality of life. Or at least they should be. On that note we should prioritize our time accordingly. We should devote our time to: choosing and preparing healthy foods, physical exercise, quality time and fun with family and friends, sleep (often put on the backburner), school or work, and helping a neighbor or friend - volunteering. If you and your family do make these items a priority you will not only live a more fulfilled and healthier life, you will lose weight.

Don't give in to, "I don't have time," "I am too exhausted at the end of the day" and "that it takes money I don't have." Find a way! If you make them your priorities you will find the time. If you eat right and exercise you will gain energy, simply by giving your body what it needs. And it doesn't cost much more than time to play kick ball with your kids in your very own back yard. Get outside, turn off the TV, and do it as a family.

In addition, there are some Växa products that can help adults (18 and up) lose weight and gain some energy, however, this does not take the place of making healthy food choices or exercise. B-T Plus restores your bodies own ability to control weight, thus allowing weight to be lost the way nature intended it. CitriSlim is formulated with essential ingredients shown to inhibit fat production from carbohydrates and reduce body fat and LDL Cholesterol storage. And Optimize can help to restore energy, provide stamina and increase vitality. To learn more about these products, please click on to the links provided.

From our family to yours, we wish you good health and good times.

Important Facts & Tips Regarding Weight Gain & Getting Active

•According to The New England Journal of Medicine, American children (now) are on track to be the first generation in U.S. history to live less healthy, and even shorter, lives than their parents.

• Nearly one in three children are overweight.

• There is such a thing as a "Big Boned" person. It is referring to bone structure or build. Use common sense. It is obvious when someone is overweight, verses having a large frame. Look at the amount of fat verses muscle when in doubt.

• Consuming just 150 calories more a day than you burn adds up to a weight gain of 15 pounds a year.

• The Journal of Pediatrics suggests that school-aged children spend 60 minutes a day doing moderate to vigorous physical activity.

• Regular exercise is shown to: improve the strength of the heart, lungs, muscles and bones; as well as improve concentration, memory, classroom behavior and academic performance.

• Infants that are breastfed for the first four to six months of life have a reduced risk of obesity.

• Suggestions for exercise for the whole family are: take an exercise class together like kick boxing or aerobics; find a safe trail or park near your home and go play for an hour after work/school together; make it a point to participate in local health walks such as The American Heart Association's Heart Walk.

• Turn on the radio, not the television, and dance.

• Eat Smart & Play Hard!

Is Your Life A Balancing Act?

Lets face it, life today can be challenging for all of us and requires a juggling act between family, personal and professional responsibilities. Everyone in America seems to have more stress than ever. Stress creates an imbalance in our bodies by producing excess Cortisol from the adrenal glands leading to an acidic pH.

What is the significance of hyperacidity or too much acid in the body? Enlightened health care providers agree that most health problems from arthritis, diabetes, heart disease and cancer begin in an acid environment within the body. It is my professional opinion that many symptoms or conditions that individuals suffer from are caused by an imbalanced pH. What most people don't know is that if your pH drops below 6, you cannot absorb vitamins A, B, E and K or valuable minerals like potassium, calcium or zinc. So check your pH today!

Body pH 101

You may have heard us or someone else mention the importance of having a balanced pH and wonder, "what does that mean?" Consider this "Body pH 101," as we will discuss what it is and why a balanced pH is so crucial for maintaining good health and staving off chronic and debilitating diseases. It is, in fact, not only crucial for all of the adult population but the young adult population as well. Enough said, let's dive into learning about this tightrope walk of a balanced pH.

First things first, what is body pH? The body is largely made up of water, a medium that allows nutrients, oxygen and biochemicals to be transported from place to place. This water-based medium can have either acid or alkaline properties, which are measured by a graduated scale called pH (potential hydrogen). The lower the pH number, the greater the acidity, and the higher the pH number, the greater the alkalinity. Växa's pH scale ranges from 5.0 to 9.0, and we consider a pH from 6.5 to 7.5 to be in a balanced state.

Next, let's address how the body reacts to pH. Well, all regulatory mechanisms (including breathing, circulation, digestion, hormonal production, etc.) are affected by pH, whether acid or alkaline, and attempt to maintain balance through strict accounting procedures. Extended pH imbalances of any kind are not well tolerated by the body. If the pH deviates too far to the acid side or too far to the alkaline side, cells become poisoned by their own toxic waste and die. This accounting procedure includes the use of important minerals within the body such as sodium, potassium and calcium to buffer an acid pH. In other words, it will use (or leach) the body's stores of first sodium, then potassium, then calcium and as a last resort it creates ammonia to balance out the acidity of the pH. As each nutritional store of vital nutrients gets used up, more and more health consequences occur.

"Well, what do you mean health consequences?" You see... all of those nutrients are needed for other aspects of the body's performance. For example: Each cell has its own Sodium-Potassium Pump that regulates the amounts of sodium and potassium the cell stores, while using up to 25% of daily total caloric input to run. In an acidic environment, less sodium will be present, slowing down the processing and induction of nutrients going into cells. This may cause a bevy of problems not the least of which is the fact that the Sodium-Potassium pump slows down, burning less fat for energy, and thus, the inability for the body to access its stored energy reserves, leaving us feeling lethargic. This is just one of the first symptoms of an overly acidic pH. Other conditions or illnesses that can be related to a long-term pH imbalance is: weight gain or obesity; cardiovascular disease; high blood pressure; high cholesterol levels; heart burn; kidney stones; urinary incontinence; arthritis or osteoporosis; etc.

"How does the pH in our bodies become imbalanced or balanced?" The answer is simple, through our diets. If you have heard it once, you have heard it 1,000 times; we just don't eat enough raw vegetables and fruits. Our diet would have to consist of 70-80% raw organic vegetables and fruits, which are alkalizing and contain much-needed minerals (i.e. sodium and potassium), in order to maintain a balanced pH naturally. The reality is much of our diet is acidic. Protein, carbohydrates and fats are all acidic foods. The contradiction of what is eaten verses what the body needs leads to an imbalanced pH.

"Okay, besides becoming a rabbit, what can I do to maintain a balanced pH?" To start with, you can eat a little more raw vegetables and fruits when possible. Even if you cook your vegetables, choose fresh vegetables verses canned, and set some out for a snack before dinner. The bottom line is find ways to work them in to your diet a little more. Another way is to consistently take Buffer-pH. Buffer-pH+ is an excellent product and better than any other product on the market. It immediately addresses the body pH with calcium carbonate and replaces the nutritional stores of sodium bicarbonate and potassium bicarbonate. It also contains soothing and alkalizing ingredients like aloe vera and cucumber alkaloid. And, very importantly, it contains homeopathics that penetrate cellular walls, which no other product does. Balancing the pH within the cells not only maintains the health of the cells but also renews their health by helping to push toxins out of the cell.

There are some additional things to note and a few misconceptions to clarify about pH balancing. It is not wise to take baking soda, which is made up of sodium bicarbonate, in an inexpensive effort to balance the pH. It is only a short-term solution that does not provide the vitamins, minerals and electrolytes to prevent chronic conditions. Also, sodium bicarbonate is not table salt; that is sodium chloride. (Everyone could benefit from lowering their intake of table salt and one of the best ways to do that, besides putting down the saltshaker, is to read food labels. So many of our store bought foods are loaded with sodium chloride.) Dark green leafy vegetables have the most alkalizing minerals in them, and with that in mind, our greens drink, Växa Greens, is another way to help obtain a balanced pH. And lastly, there are certain health conditions, lifestyles and medications that perpetuate an acidic environment such as Candida (yeast) overgrowth, high levels of stress, alcohol and drug consumption, and antibiotics.

In summary, maintaining a balanced pH should be an utmost priority for everyone. And it is not always an easy task; it takes a daily focus on diet, supplements and, in general, what goes into the body. And we have just barely covered the subject of body pH. For this reason, Buffer-pH is a crucial addition to your medicine cabinet for you and your whole family. For some, it may take longer to achieve a balanced pH depending on the state of their health to start with. Decide today to do your best to maintain a balanced pH and we guarantee that you will simply feel better.

Healthy Diet or Something All Together Different

Are you eating sensibly? If you eat a balanced diet then you don't eat too much or too little of certain kinds of food, or miss out on essential vitamins and other essential food elements. This would be the first step in achieving health, however, if you look at the fact that the number one food being purchased at Pennsylvania State University is ice cream you can quickly see that a balanced diet is the furthest from the minds of our youth. If your grocery list contains sugar frosted cereals, chips, bologna, bacon, hotdogs, hamburgers, soda, ice cream, Twinkies, macaroni and cheese, Spaghettio's, Raman noodles, white bread and cigarettes, then you may be heading in the wrong direction. And you are not alone. Take this opportunity to enhance your diet a little at a time by changing some of your grocery choices and putting your health above delicious sugar and fat... and convenience.

Simplifying Food Questions Of The Health Conscious

This week we wanted to simplify some of the food decisions you make every day. For instance, have you ever wondered what was the healthiest piece of the chicken to eat? Is white meat healthier? We often tell our customers to eat more vegetables and fruits, but are some healthier than others? Not only do we hope to answer some of the questions that you may be pondering, but also to shorten the amount of time you spend at the grocery store debating over the many options. As the infamous band, KISS so appropriately stated, "Keep it simple, stupid." This we will try to do.

Let's start with the white meat verses dark meat dilemma. White meat is healthier because it contains less fat, 6.3 grams less fat, in 3 oz of cooked chicken, to be exact. Dark meat (from any type of bird) is dark because it is made up of several different types of fibers and tissues that contain high levels of fat (2.6 g. saturated, 9.3 g. overall, in 3 oz of cooked chicken) and sugar in order to make them efficient at aerobic respiration. You will find the dark meat relates to the muscles used most frequently by the bird. Also, when choosing what part of the chicken to eat, stay away from the skin, and more obviously, choose baked, broiled or grilled over fried chicken. Since, we are a country battling high fat intake, disabling heart conditions and obesity, cutting fat in our diet, including our meat should be a fact of life. On that note some healthy alternatives to beef, pork and even white meat chicken are Buffalo (also known as Bison) and Ostrich meat. Buffalo meat is also a great source of Omega 3 essential fatty acids (EFAs), another vital nutrient that we as a country are deficient in. Both Buffalo and Ostrich meat are very low in fat; yet contain high levels of protein, iron and even selenium. These lean meats have special cooking directions for maximum tenderness so make sure to follow a recipe.

Okay, what about fish? We need to eat more of it, but there is the scare of mercury, not to mention so many options to choose from. When possible buy wild over farm raised; the wild is said to contain less mercury. Also, choose a fish that is rich in omega 3 EFAs, which are cold-water fish like salmon, herring, sardines (yes, canned sardines are okay) and bluefish. Seafood that is found to have the lowest levels of mercury are tilapia, crawfish, haddock, freshwater trout, catfish, flatfish (flounder and sole), mackerel (Atlantic), scallops, crab, etc. The fish that are known to have the highest mercury levels (i.e. don't buy) mackerel - king (Atlantic & Gulf of Mexico), shark, swordfish and tilefish. FYI: The world's oldest person on record, who recently passed at the age of 115, "swore by a daily helping of herring for a healthy life." -MSNBC Try Omegacin, it is a good source of fish oils.

When it comes to your fruit servings, fruit juice is not a substitute. It usually has added sugar and it lacks the skin of the fruit and often the pulp. The skin and pulp are very important in providing complete nutrition. The skin contains carotenoids and flavonoids, as well as a complex of nutrients brought forth from the sun that cannot be duplicated. The pulp is a source of fiber, something again, that we as Americans do not get enough of. It is not that juice is bad; it is just that, as previously stated, it should not be a substitute for eating the daily requirement of fruits. Put simply - eat your fruit! Fruit choices that are rich in Vitamin C are oranges, grapefruit, berries and melons. Watermelons are also excellent sources of lycopene (more than tomatoes), carotenoids and Vitamin B. Also, Daily Essentials is a good source of essential vitamins and minerals.

In addition, eat your vegetables! ...Fresh, frozen or canned? Fresh, organic vegetables (and fruits) are your best option, frozen your second and canned your last resort. You can find frozen and canned organic as well. Mix it up, but green leafy vegetables like spinach, greens, kale, broccoli, etc. are the best source of nutrients, including Vitamin E and omega 3. Sweet potatoes are a great source of Vitamin E and A. Peppers are rich in Vitamin C. Another great source of green vegetables is Växa Greens.

Lastly, here are some other healthy choices for you to make. White bread verses wheat? Wheat! Wheat Germ is rich in Vitamin E. Any whole grain bread will be healthier than white bread. Olive oil or vegetable oil? Olive oil! Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil to be exact. Olive oil, peanut oil, walnut oil, or flaxseed oil are all good choices and rich in omega 3's. The term cold pressed means that the vegetable, seed or nut did not go through a process of boiling in order to extract the oil, which can make the oil harmful as well as deplete it of sought after nutrients. Finally, to snack or not to snack? Snack! Instead of worrying about trans fatty acids and salt content when choosing potato chips... choose seeds or nuts. Almonds, walnuts and sunflower seeds are excellent sources of Vitamin E, omega 3's, potassium, as well as other much-needed nutrients. Yes, they have fat, but it is the "good fat." Another healthy snack is Växa's chocolate or vanilla Nutritionizer.

It is obvious by the recent trend of fast food restaurants to offer healthier choices that we as a nation are beginning to pay attention and demand the option to eat healthy on the run. Although, when you get to the drive-through, it is not so easy to make the right choice. Preparation is key. Plan out your meals and snacks with moderation and nutrition in mind. That way the occasional bad choice won't lead to future health problems. Do your best and don't stress; keep it simple!
